Actor Karthik is to marry Ranjani on 3rd July 2011

Ranjani is a graduate from Chennai's Stella Maris college and has an MA degree in English Literature. Ranjani, daughter of Erode Chinnasamy and Jothi Meenakshi, they hail from Erode.
Karthik Sivakumar said, "Actually, my mother has been looking out for a girl for a long time now. Arranged marriage did sound like a scary option, but when I met Ranjani and spoke to her for over an hour, I was convinced that she was the one for me."

It was an interesting experience for many school children on Friday. They got to shake hands with their favourite artist Karthik Sivakumar, share the dais, take photographs, quiz him on several topics and listen to him.

"Such events were not there during my school days. I was an average student, but was good at designing. Children should go out and play. You should pick up at least one sport, one musical instrument or dancing that will shape your future," Tamil actor said.

Referring to the increasing number of kidnapping incidents, his advice was: "Keep away from strangers. Don't talk to them. Make sure to have your parents or teachers along while you converse with them." To a child's question on children entering filmdom, he said that it was good as long as it did not interfere with studies."
