Tamanna as an Angry Women
Having played demure roles in films so far (barring her debut Kedi), Tamannaah is now set to surprise audiences with her feisty role in her upcoming Venghai, in which she is paired opposite Dhanush.

Talking about her role, the film's director Hari (of Singam fame) says, I always make it a point to have strong female leads in my films and Tamannaah's role is no different . She plays Radhika, a village girl who has moved to the town. She is basically a peace-loving character; one who tries her very best to keep people out of harm's way (she even has a scene in the film in which she tries to help an insect from being devoured by a lizard). But after a life-altering incident, this pacifist takes to arms, literally and also urges the hero to do so.

Tamannaah Bhatia has made a '100 %' comeback in Tollywood .

She may have been missing from the Telugu scene for a few years now, but it didn't take long for the pretty lass to woo all her fans back with her latest hit. In the city, busy shooting for another Telugu movie, the 21-year-old actress says she is here to stay this time around.

"After "Happy Days," I signed a two-film contract with Geeta Arts according to which I would do two movies with their production house in the future, depending on the availability of my dates. Meanwhile, I got some good offers from the Tamil film industry — with big heroes, established directors and prestigious production houses — which I couldn't ignore. After doing four movies there back to back, I was supposed to do "Arya 2" with Geeta Arts, but our dates didn't work out. Now I took up "100% Love" and "Badrinath." It was never a conscious decision to stay away from Telugu cinema." she explains.

Allu Arjun is soon going to act in the direction of VV Vinayak. Geeta Arts currently enjoying the success of Hatrick films Jalsa, Ghazini and Magadheera is going to produce this film. The film is titled as Badrinath.

Initially makers were planning to rope in Hansika for the lead role but now as per the filmnagar sources, Tamanna of Happy days and KIKK fame replaced beauty doll Hansika.
After months of hunting around for a lead actress, it looks like Tamil actor Vijay has zeroed in on Tamanna, the fastest rising star in Tollywood and Kollywood, to play his female lead in his prestigious 50th film!

Initially Asin was the choice for the role but as Asin is busy in bollywood, he cannot get thedates of ASIN.

The next best option was the flavour of the season — Tamanna — who had back-to-back super hits (Padikkathavan and Ayan) in tamil. When contacted the actress confirmed that she is playing the lead opposite Vijay. “I was impressed with the script” she discloses. With no Telugu offers in her kitty, she seems to have resolved to stay back in Kollywood.
In Tollywood, she was last seen in KIKK with Siddharth, but her dubbed films like Kalasala, Ananda Thandavam and veedokkade failed to click with the audience.

After her blockbuster Ayan, Tamanna is now busy in Kollywood. “I am doing two Tamil films,” says the actress, who sounds excited about stepping into Kareena Kapoor’s shoes in the Tamil remake of the Bollywood hit Jab We Met. “It’s a challenging role and I am paired opposite Bharath in the film,” she adds. So, is she totally giving up on Telugu films? “I am getting offers from Tollywood but can’t spare the dates,” she rues. Until then her Telugu fans will have to check out her dubbed films like Ananda Tandavanam and Kalasala. Well, looks like Tollywood’s loss is Kollywood’s gain.
Popular director SHANKAR’s Tamil film Kalluri has been dubbed in Telugu as Kalasala. Akhil and tamanna are the stars in this film directed by Balaju shaktivel. The audio of the film was released recently by Shankar himself, for this, actress tamanna flew down from Chennai. Shankar said that the film is based on a real life incident that happened at Dharmapuri in Tamil Nadu, in which a college bus was set on fire by some miscreants and three girls were charred to death. The film had faced lot of opposition in TN, especially with regard to the climax. Hope the Telugu producers have got their facts right for their version.

Movie:Konchem Ishtam Konchem Kashtam
Rating: 3/5
Cast: Siddharth, Tamanna,Prakash Raj, RamyaKrishna, Brahmanandam,Venu Madhav and others
Direction: Kishore Kumar

Lover boy Siddharth unveils another dimension to his acting repertoire by playing a flirtatious youngster in his latest film. But he gradually mends his ways after falling in love with the cute Tamanna. However, his spirited role is slightly dampened by his motive of re- uniting his separated parents in order to be able to marry his love. Although, he would have preferred to share time with his parents `separately' instead of having them living together under one roof.Director Kishore Kumar should take the blame for this ill-defined role. Also, lesser said the better about Tamanna's confused role. Her father-fixation extends beyond a point which irks her new-found love too. Barring a few laughs and some cute romantic moments, the incoherent screenplay fails to impress. The petty ego-clashes between the young lovers are overdone, while the process of re-union of the rigid couple-Prakash Raj and Ramya should have been handled with some maturity. The film begins in a village, where the bonding between a father and daughter (Tamanna) is well-established.She leaves her doting father and arrives in Hyderabad to pursue her studies. Meanwhile,Siddharth is seen flirting with cute girls and lives with his single mom (Ramya Krishna). He also shares a good bonding with his father (Prakash Raj) and often meets him. He joins Tamanna's group of friends but she keeps a distance from him after meeting him in an embarrassing moment.Predictably, both fall in love in the due course and seek the blessings of her parent (Nasser) for their marriage. But Nasser drops a bombshell to shatter their dreams.Watch the movie in a theater, to know how the rest of the drama unfolds.

Industry pundits have predicted that Tamannaah is going to be the person to watch out for in 2009.
She has everything going her way — the right looks and attitude, is a complete professional, disciplined and above all, she has made the right choice of films. All her forthcoming films are with young heroes —Surya (Ayan), Dhanush (Padikathavan), Bharath (Raja Rani), Karthi (Paiyya) and Siddharth (Ananda Thandavam) and a big Telugu film with Boys Siddharth (Koncham Ishtam Koncham Kashtam).

During the last year, she had no releases, but things seem to be looking up for the actress as she will have more films than her rivals. Suddenly, Tammu, as she is affectionately called by her friends and folks, has become hot property in the south Indian advertising endorsement market, after Asin took the aerial route to Mumbai. At the moment, the 19-year-old from Lokhandwala in Andheri, Mumbai, is the highest paid actress in Tamil cinema, without a single hit to her credit!

When asked about her phenomenal rise in Kollywood, without any releases in 2008, Tamannaah says, “Two of my 2007 December releases —Shekhar Kammula’s Happy Daysin Telugu and Balaji Sakthivel’s Kalloori in Tamil, were path breaking films that received critical acclaim. Both were performance-oriented roles and the audience loved my characters. I am eternally grateful to Sekhar sir and Balaji sir, two people who moulded me as an actress.”

How has she managed so many films that are coming up for release this year? The actress says, “At least two of them, Ananda Thandavam and Padikkathavan, were due for release last year, but were delayed because of technical reasons.” So, this year she will have six releases spread over eight months.

On her choice of films, Tamannaah is very clear. “What counts is the script, director, hero and the banner. The director should be able to give me a good narration of the script and a good role. The story of Lingusamy’s Paiyya was narrated to me in three hours. If I am attracted to the story, I try to squeeze my dates for the film.” About doing too many love stories, she replies, “Ayan is an action film and Padikathavan is a rip-roaring comedy. I try my best to do all genres of movies.” She says that it’s her aim to dub in her own voice by the end of the year. “I’m trying to learn the language and also picking up many words when on the sets where everybody talks in Tamil. In fact, I heard the entire script narration of Paiyya in Tamil,” says the actress, who is a keen observer.

About the talk that she is charging a bomb, without actually having a hit, she says, “In this industry, you get what you deserve. It is all a question of demand and my producers feel I’m worth it. If not, they will not pay me so much.” The fringe benefit of stardom, according to her, is travel. “Last year, I went to the US, Switzerland, South Africa, Malaysia, Singapore and Namibia,” she says.

As for filmanagar sources, Tamanna , the Happy Days girl Tamanna is to sign a big project Varudu opposite Mahesh Babu.

Every day, Tamanna, one of the most happening stars in south cinema, gets an offer to do a film. But she says the roles offered to her are not very exciting or challenging.
Post Happy Days, Tamanna is the busiest actress both in Tollywood and Kollywood. Tamanna who has just completed a long schedule of her Telugu film Konchem Ishtamga Konchem Kashtamga with Siddharth and Dhanush’s Padikkathavan in Hyderabad has gone to Mumbai for taking a break. It is said that she has been chosen to play opposite Allu Arjun in his upcoming film a sequel to Aarya.
Producer MS Raju and director B Gopal are joining hands for the first time to make a film with Ram, Hansika and Tamanna. The film will go on floors in couple of days.
MSC Raju has registered the title as Josh for this film.
B Gopal who usually handles big stars is dealing small stars for the first time. Both the producer and director are in need of a big hit to bounce back to their past glory.
