Posani Krishna Murali's next, Dussasana, starring Srikanth and Sanjjanaa in the lead, is courting controversy for no apparent reason.

Or so says the film's heroine Sanjjanaa. Trouble has come in the form of a scene in which the villain rips her top to harm her. "In the scene, the villain stabs me and almost slits open my stomach to physically harm me. To give audiences the impression that he's pulled off my top, the director got me to wear a skin-colour (nude) corset under a green top. For added effect, my upper body is graphically blurred to give the impression that I am topless. Various websites and tabloids have been going to town saying that I have gone topless in a Telugu movie. I have not. I'm not topless," clarifies the actress. 

What's irked Sanjjanaa is that the reports are making a big deal out of nothing. "If I were really that bold and wanted to put my assets on display, I wouldn't want any blurring done. But I'm not like that. Even if I were to get a role opposite the biggest actor in the world, I would never bare all. I'm not so desperate for attention to have to stoop to that level," she asserts and adds, "What's worse is that this scene is neither sexy nor hot; nor is there harassment like rape or molestation. So where's the need to make such a hue and cry about it?" 

But could it be that Sanjjanaa's bold image (courtesy her role in Ganda Hendthi and Boyfriend, which that was a remake of the Hindi film Murder) is the reason people assume that she may have actually gone topless? "As an actress, I have grown and moved on from those days. Ganda Hendthi... was a mistake I made when I was young and naive. I don't even want to talk about it. If anyone thinks I have the image of a 'bold' actress, it may be in the Kannada film industry, not in Tollywood, where I made my debut opposite Puri Jagannath in a girl-next-door role," adds the actress.

The Telugu film Samarthudu starring actor Raja and Sanjana in the lead roles has completed its first schedule and is now entering into the second schedule. Krishnam Raju plays a vital role in the film. Arjun, who has worked as an assistant to B Gopal and EVV Satyanarayana is the debuting as director with this film. Amma Rajashekar has choreographed a song for the lead pair for the film. Vinod Kumar, Brahmanandam, Venu Madhav, Salim Panda, Krishna Bhagawan and others are playing other important roles in the film. Music is by V Rajashekar.

Actress Sanjana has come a long way after her successful debut with Ganda Hendathi. She went to act in a quite a few films but it was Bujjigadu that brought her fame and she knows it. "I am very happy that Puri Jagan gave me a mind blowing platform and I was never so happy and excited ever before the release of Bujjigadu, which got my career to a very good start," she said. After a short hiatus, she is now back with four promising projects.

Yes, this pretty actress is on the move again. She has four big films on hand. She is going to act with hero Darshan in the film Boss. This Kannada film is produced by Ramesh Yadav and directed by Raghu Raj, a successful director and fashion photographer. The first schedule of the film is planned to kick start in Switzerland on August 6. She has another Kannada film to be produced by Balaji Singh and directed by Shri of Orata I Love U fame. She is going to play a very homely character in the film.

Apart from Kannada films, Sanjana has a couple of Telugu films. She has signed a new Telugu film to be produced by Dr. Rajshekar. "I've got a chance to prove my acting skills by playing the role of a very innocent homely girl next door character in this film. It is a remake of the Hindi film Khakee but my character in the Telugu version is not there in the original," revealed the actress.

Sanjana, the sensuous heroine who had doneGanda Hendathi', is also doing a Telugu biggie 'Bujjigadu' releasing on May 23. It is directed by Poori Jagannath and Sanjana shares screen space with Trisha.

Now Sanjana has signed a Kannada film 'Yee Sanje'. On the release day of her Telugu film, this Kannada film is launching in Bangalore. Deepak of 'Megha Varshini' is the hero of this film.

Sri who directed 'Orata I Love You' is heading the megaphone. Rangayana Raghu, Kishore are also in the supporting roles. Shanker is the man behind camera and Jai Shivu is the music director. Balaji Singh is the producer of this Sumukha Arts Creations.

The title 'Yee Sanje' is very familiar for two reasons. A popular daily evening newspaper in that name is in Kannada and 'Yee Sanje Yakagidhe…is beginning line of the mellifluous song of 'Geleya' Kannada that is written by Jayanth Kaikini and sung by Sonu Nigam

 

SANJANA, who is playing second fiddle in Bujjigadu – Made in Chennai , is eagerly awaiting the audience's response for her performance in the film, which is set for release in the third week of May. The girl, who is known to the Telugu audience for her sizzling performance in Mogudu Pellam O Boyfriend, is said to have done a lot of skin show in Bujjigadu. She seems to be treading the familiar path to success. Well, whatever be it, the film's publicity posters show only PRABHAS and TRISHA. The director, PURI JAGANNATH, seems to have sidelined Sanjana completely. Or is it a deliberate act by Puri, who has reserved her performance for the audience for only on-screen. With the heat on, Sanjana's performance may ensure the mercury to go up a little further!
