If the sources are to be believed, a film based on the life of South beauty Silk Smitha is being produced by Ekta Kapoor. Ekta is a well-known producer in Northern parts of India for producing soap operas that have great TRP ratings. Sources have it that talks are on with Mallika Sherawat to star in this project. Silk Smitha sizzled in the silver screen for nearly a decade before committing suicide.

The actress shot to limelight and attracted the Hindi audience with her performance in Moonram Pirai, which was dubbed in Hindi. She went on to star in a couple of Hindi films before commiting suicide. According to Ekta, the director and other technicians are yet to be finalized.

However, according to a censor board official, the movie does not have any controversial scenes that might provoke the religious sentiments. “There are no scenes that show the idols of Hindu Gods in poor light and no idols are shown being smashed,” another official was quoted as saying.

With that Kamal’s multi-language and multi-crore summer visual extravaganza is all set to hit the screens in the first week of June. And if the legal wrangles pose hurdle, the movie would be released in the last week of June. An official announcement is expected in this regard soon.
